Media Focused on Blaming Coronavirus on Trump

After years of Russia, Russia, Russia and a few months of Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine we now have another bunch of foreigners interfering in our presidential election. The difference is the Opposition Media welcomes this interference because of the damage it may do to President Trump’s re–election.

Gary@GaryMcCoy.org

While Russian ‘interference’ was invisible and the results negligible, Chinese interference, while also invisible, has very tangible results.

The natural, catchy term for his interference would be the Chinese Flu. It’s not entirely precise, but it hits the bullseye on the origin of the disease. Unfortunately, the Speech Police has managed to persuade itself that the most populous nation on earth is inhabited solely by minorities.

That makes any reference to China that contains even the slightest intimation of disease automatically ‘racist.’ So we’re stuck with coronavirus for the duration of the epidemic.

The geographic origin of the disease is immaterial to the left. As far as they’re concerned the coronavirus is a godsend. Dead Americans and an economy on life support are a small price to pay for the left and its media stenographers, if it beats Trump in November.

US deaths and economic upheaval aren’t the fault of a bunch of bat–eating Chinamen. The fault belongs to Trump as far as the OpMedia is concerned. The playbook will be the same one used in the aftermath of Puerto Rico’s Hurricane Maria.

Trump was blamed for power outages, supply snafus, destroyed homes, damp tortillas and deaths that occurred weeks after the hurricane.

Three years later, it turns out hurricane aid failures weren’t Trump’s fault after all. Puerto Rican relief officials are indicted for corruption and it’s discovered other incompetent Puerto Ricans managed to misplace warehouses full of relief supplies. But the damage to Trump’s reputation is already done.

Which was the goal all along.

Currently the focus of the left’s wrath is on the lack of coronavirus test kits. Until Trump acted, any disease testing kit had to receive approval from the FDA before it could be used in the field. That meant there were only federal testing kits when the coronavirus hit, because no one else wanted to jump through FDA hoops on the off chance there might be a disease to test in the future.

The US was dependent on a sole–source provider, the CDC, who manufactured a faulty test. It was another in a long line of government healthcare failures. Trump pointed out this fact and ordered an expedited approval process.

In gratitude the OpMedia has accused Trump of lying and personally blamed him for the shortage of test kits.

A story in the rabidly anti–Trump Daily Mail makes my point. Leftist stenographer Emily Goodin writes, “Donald Trump doubles down on discredited claim OBAMA is to blame for lack of coronavirus testing kits.” Note the all–caps “OBAMA.” That means criticizing The One is heresy and totally out of bounds for decent people.

Emily mentions the test controversy twice the first time “a claim that has been debunked” and the second time, “an accusation that has been shown not to be true.”

She doesn’t even bother to inform readers who was doing the “debunking.” Not so much as a single, lying anonymous source. We’re just supposed to take Emily’s word for it.

There is a problem with that. In the same March 6th issue there’s another story that proves Trump was right all along.

This concerns a North Carolina company that has produced a coronavirus test that is already being used in China, “helping officials there to diagnose more patients, faster.” The test is also being used in South Korea, Japan and Italy.

So if it works, why isn’t the test available here? “But the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the test under the emergency measure it announced Saturday.”

Proving there was an Obama–era rule change that Trump had to alter. Even the CDC was hamstrung by the Obama micromanagement. Rather than devise a new test, the CDC opted to fix the faulty test. That would be faster, because “even when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) itself developed a test, it had to get approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) before distributing it.”

The reason we can’t test for coronavirus like we should and we don’t have nearly enough tests is not Trump’s fault. The delay and consequent response missteps are due solely to the dead hand of Obama functionaries’ micromanagement and control–freakism.

That’s not an explanation you’ll get from the left, which is busy burying the truth beside coronavirus victims. If the OpMedia has its way, you’ll learn what really happened regarding the coronavirus test kit shortage sometime during Gropey Joe Biden’s first term.

NFL Limits Demonstrations to the End Zone

It required a high level of self–absorption and a correspondingly low grasp of irony for bench–warming quarterback Colin Kaepernick to begin protesting “racial injustice” during the Obama administration.

In all of recorded history there have been exactly two Western nations that have elected black presidents and in Haiti’s case I’m using the term ‘nation’ loosely. Also, ‘elected.’

Rick McKee, Augusta Chronicle

The protest didn’t offend Obama, who lacks an emotional investment in football. I imagine he’s more of an Ultimate Frisbee kinda guy. The interesting speculation is wondering what George Bush would have said if Kaepernick had begun taking a knee during his administration.

I’m thinking Bush would have deployed his standard response: Hunker down and hope it goes away. At best we would have received a statement much like Obama’s on–one–hand–and–on–the–other deflection that equated the loss of a United States soldier or Marine as the moral equivalent of the shooting of strong–arm robber Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO.

Bush was one of those caretaker conservatives who knew better than to rock the Cultural Marxist’s boat. He certainly wouldn’t get into some unseemly social dispute that might matter to conservatives, particularly when the disagreement involved a minority.

That’s why Trump in the White House is such a danger to the leftist elite that currently rules our culture. He will get into those fights. Trump relishes those fights. And the leftist bullies running roughshod over the culture hate it when the victim finally fights back.

They like it even less when the victim wins.

Only in America could a black quarterback who was raised by white parents, attended a prestige university and earned millions as a professional football player think it made sense for him to insult the flag and the patriotic Americans who love it. Not only that, this emotionally immature narcissist thinks he should be praised for his ‘brave’ stand and embraced by the league.

That’s why Kaepernick is currently suing the NFL and alleging he was ‘blacklisted’ and denied the job that’s rightfully his.

This is like a waiter, who moonlights as a member of PETA, demanding he be hired by Outback Steakhouse so he can tell customers: “Meat is Murder.” Or a car salesman demanding he be hired by GMC trucks so he can tell potential buyers that not driving an electric car makes them climate criminals.

Using someone else’s business to deliver a message that insults the customer is economic appropriation. NFL owners decided indulging a leftist–approved protest was one thing and watching TV ratings plunge after the protests began was quite another. That’s why owners, after a boot in the behind from the unhousebroken Trump, have decided to confine all demonstrations to the end zone, while banning them from the sideline.

If the under–the–man’s–boot millionaires of the NFL want to work in a quick protest during the end zone touchdown celebration they can pantomime away, but there won’t be any protest during The Star–Spangled Banner.

Naturally, much of the Opposition Media considers changing employee conduct rules to prevent insulting the customer a racist act.

Kevin B. Blackistone, an oppressed black man who is a Washington Post columnist and university professor, believes Making America Great Again involves putting blacks back on the plantation. His column blasting the new anthem policy begins with the harrowing tale of NBA player Sterling Brown’s encounter with Milwaukee PD.

It’s proof of how debased America’s political culture is when the hero of Blackistone’s tale of oppression crying out for justice is a jerk who takes up TWO handicapped parking spaces and refuses to follow lawful police orders. Brown is perfectly healthy professional athlete who doesn’t believe the rules the rest of us follow apply to him. And besides, didn’t those cops in their ratty polyester pants KNOW WHO HE IS?

That’s the type of injustice Kaepernick and the rest of his hey–look–at–me followers are protesting. Somehow it escapes their notice that the athletic merit that allows blacks to dominate the rosters of NFL teams all out of proportion to their percentage of the population has a flip side. The lack of behavioral merit exhibited by some members of the same racial category results in their being over represented on the arrests and incarceration side of the ledger.

Unfortunately, being a ‘social justice’ advocate means never having to acknowledge the law of cause and effect.

None of these fanboy reporters ever asks the question that any movement should be able to answer, which is: How will you know when you’ve won?

Is it when blacks are allowed to vote? When a black woman has the top rated national talk show? When the US elects a black president?

The fact they can’t answer the question shows how empty their movement really is.

DACA: Delayed Accountability for Contemptuous Aliens

Remember when candidate Donald Trump promised when he was president, “We’re going to win so much. You’re going to get tired of winning.”?

Evidently, the president pooped out before we did.

The latest issue where President Trump is too tired to win is DACA: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival. This unconstitutional Obama fatwa ordered immigration authorities to give work permits, green cards, implied future citizenship and a stolen identity to illegal alien children brought here by their equally illegal parents.

The fact this particular subset of the illegal alien invasion is composed of children is supposed to make normally clear–thinking conservatives all dewy–eyed and sympathetic.

And I am sympathetic. I think it would be cruel to make these illegals fly back to their own country on Spirit Air, so taxpayers should be willing to spring for a ticket on United.

But there ends my sympathy.

Adhering to the rule of law is a difficult topic for leftists to grasp since race, class and ideology take priority and their law enforcement is subject to outside circumstance and political popularity. For those who think laws should apply equally to everyone, the concept of “Fruit of the Poisonous Tree” is relevant here.

Cornell defines it as, “A doctrine that extends the exclusionary rule to make evidence inadmissible in court if it was derived from evidence that was illegally obtained. As the metaphor suggests, if the evidential “tree” is tainted, so is its “fruit.”

The same rule should apply to DACA. When the parents cross the border and break the law the children shouldn’t benefit from their crime.

The left’s response is always “they were children and didn’t know the law was being broken.” Fine, the kids didn’t know dad shoplifted the Xbox either, but they don’t get to continue playing Grand Theft Auto when the cops arrive.

So if those kids forfeit an Xbox worth under $500, why should illegals be allowed to keep benefits worth vastly more?

[Curious note: Both the shoplifter parent and the illegal parent claimed they broke the law because they “wanted to give their families a better life.”]

We owe nothing to DACA participants wrapped in Mexican flags and burning US flags, while demonstrating the aggressive dependency that characterizes much of the immigration controversy. Their beef is with lousy parents who took a gamble and lost.

The issue shouldn’t really be this difficult for Republicans to understand either. We had a referendum! Out of the 14 serious candidates for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, nine were in favor of giving DACA participants US citizenship or some form of amnesty. And guess what? Not one of the nine gained the nomination or won the presidency.

The guy that won promised to end DACA on Day One.

Ending DACA won’t lose votes for President Trump. Ninty–nine percent of the DACA supporters who could legally vote, voted for Hillary.

Waffling on DACA is the vote loser because it betrays Trump’s base.

Republican appeasers are recycling the same arguments voters soundly rejected 2016. They fear applying the law equally will ruin Republicans with Hispaniards for generations. What else is new? Ethnic supremacy groups have been holding funerals for the GOP since the turn of this century and the corpse keeps leaping up from the grave.

When Republicans do cave in to illegal alien demands, the party realizes no benefit. Ronald Reagan signed the bill that granted citizenship to 3 million illegals and they rewarded him by voting Democrat.

In this week’s frenzy to cater to minor criminals two polls supposedly show overwhelming support, but the data, like GOP open border sellouts, can’t be trusted.

The questions are misleading. In the Politico poll, supposedly proving “overwhelming” support for DACA, there are no specific conditions listed, only “certain requirements,” which is polling fantasy.

That’s like asking if the Cleveland Browns will win the Super Bowl if the team “meets certain requirements.”

The NBC poll is equally doctored. DACA delinquents are termed “undocumented immigrants” instead of the understandable “illegal alien” in a sleazy attempt to boost support.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R–Appeasement) claims the decision on DACA is a “defining moment” for Republicans. He’s right, but not in the way he thinks. Fact is these moochers had quite a run in the US. They attended schools they didn’t pay for, demanded green cards they didn’t merit and took welfare benefits they didn’t deserve. Now it’s time to say thanks go home.

Graham, and now Trump, appear to be embracing a DACA “fix” that keeps illegals in the US while causing a mass exodus of conservatives from the GOP. It’s a victory for the left, parasitic businesses and Republican swamp leeches.

There’s already a “fix” that keeps a Trump campaign promise and begins solving our immigration problem. That “fix” is ending DACA.

Obama Insults the Bereaved in Dallas

It takes a special kind of president to travel to Dallas, ostensibly to speak at a memorial service for five assassinated police officers, and instead deliver a Black Lives Matter convention speech. A president completely oblivious to the purpose of the occasion and what decency requires.

Obama delivered a speech the Daily Caller said was almost entirely his composition, so sympathizers can’t go to the default excuse and blame it on the staff.

Obama lights fuseThis was Obama letting Obama be Obama.

Less than half the speech can generously be attributed to honoring the officers who gave their lives.

The rest was an insulting travesty that combined Obama’s usual self–referential adulation (45 mentions of “I”) with his faculty lounge race–baiting and hectoring of a society that after almost eight years still doesn’t deserve him.

It was a slap in the face to every member of the Dallas police family when Obama made excuses for Black Lives Matter and included sympathetic references to Alton Sterling who was shot resisting arrest in Baton Rouge: “And I understand these protests — I see them…Sometimes they can be hijacked by an irresponsible few. Police can get hurt. Protesters can get hurt.

“…But even those who dislike the phrase “black lives matter,” surely, we should be able to hear the pain of Alton Sterling’s family.” Maybe later, but certainly not at the Dallas service.

There is no sentimental equivalence between the deaths of five police officers killed while protecting people expressing their dislike of cops and the death of a career criminal.

Obama justifies this bizarre show of mortuary equivalence by explaining that in addition to his criminal career, Alton was the black male answer to Paula Dean, “We should — when we hear a friend describe him by saying that, whatever he cooked, he cooked enough for everybody, that should sound familiar to us, that maybe he wasn’t so different than us. So that we can, yes, insist that his life matters.”

Yes, nothing says loving like something from the oven. If only Sterling expressed an equal love for the law.

Dallas cops gave their lives trying to keep the peace, Sterling lost his life running a low–class hustle where he sold pirated CDs and DVDs to a customer base that has as much respect for intellectual property as China.

Examined in the light of his overall criminal career, Sterling’s activities that night were almost benign, except for brandishing the gun at the person who called 9–1–1. The individual Obama eulogized on the Dallas stage was a convicted pedophile, domestic abuser, burglar and thief with previous gun convictions.

That’s enough to get you banned from the NFL, but if a cop shoots Sterling as he reaches for the illegal gun in his pocket, it rates a shout out from the president.

Hands down, I want to shoot!

The speech would’ve been a perfect time for Obama to point out it’s not only whites who fall prey to racial bigotry and that the nation as a whole would be better served if we resisted the urge to jump to conclusions before all the facts where known. And to give some credit, he did say painting all cops as criminals, serving a corrupt justice system, was wrong.

And then Obama turns around and gives Black Lives Matter, the group doing just that, absolution for the climate of cop hatred it created!

“We also know that centuries of racial discrimination, of slavery, and subjugation, and Jim Crow; they didn’t simply vanish with the law against segregation…So that if you’re black, you’re more likely to be pulled over or searched or arrested; more likely to get longer sentences; more likely to get the death penalty for the same crime…we cannot simply turn away and dismiss those in peaceful protest as troublemakers or paranoid.

“…To have your experience denied like that, dismissed by those in authority, dismissed perhaps even by your white friends and coworkers and fellow church members, again and again and again, it hurts. Surely we can see that, all of us.”

So maybe these Dallas cops were innocent, but keep an eye on the rest of those crackers.

During an occasion that called for truth Obama endorsed a racial shakedown movement based on the lie that Michael Brown was shot down in cold blood while on his way deliver cigars to orphans.

It was a travesty. It was offensive. And it was a disservice to the families of the slain police officers.

Black lies matter, Mr. President. If you don’t believe it, call the chief in Dallas.

Cromnibus: Spending As Usual in Boehner’s House

In spite of the impression you may have received in the MSM, passage of the Cromnibus was not pre–ordained.

For one brief shining moment conservatives in the House had a chance to do what voters wanted: Stop Obama in spite of the craven, accomadationist GOP House leadership ‘led’ by Squeaker of the House John Boehner.

Conservatives were winning the vote on whether or not to bring the Cromnibus to the floor. We had a chance to re–open budget negotiations and remove spending control from Harry Reid and President Obama.

And then Cong. Gullible and the Reindeer Farmer entered the picture and it was all over.

Time to Put Farmers on A Glutton–Free Diet

Now that I’ve recovered from a bout of tryptophan poisoning, I’ve been giving some thought to the photos of this season’s Thanksgiving clemency ceremony. Do you think Obama’s executive order that pardoned an albino–white turkey is his idea of racial outreach in the wake of the Ferguson riots?

Are white turkeys executed in greater numbers during the ramp up to Thanksgiving than their proportion of the entire turkey population would warrant?

Is Eric Holder on this job, too?

My hope is, as the spirit of clemency wafts through DC, that maybe the taxpayer could be given a pardon in the New Year, starting with Thanksgiving dinner.

New ISIS Definition: Idiotic Spending Increases Substantially

Obama doesn’t like to use our military to advance the interests of the United States, but when Saudi Arabia needs a Foreign Legion, he’s happy to loan the Pentagon. If ISIS is an existential threat, then why don’t we see Saudi and Egyptian boots–on–the–ground?

The chopping block is much closer to Cairo and Riyadh than Washington, DC.

Sure ISIS has murdered a couple of journalists, but Putin’s minions in the Ukraine shot down a civilian airliner and Obama didn’t so much as send a bullet. Of course they didn’t post a YouTube video of the missile launch and that’s probably the difference.

Militia Nightmares

It’s no wonder the left is so opposed to private ownership of guns and the concept of a “well–regulated militia.” After watching what the ragtag ISIS militia has accomplished in Iraq, no doubt they fear adding American know–how to a domestic group would be a real threat to future government nannytarians.

Iraq is also giving conservatives indigestion, but for another reason. After spending nine years and $25 billion to train, equip and presumably motivate Iraqi security forces; we are greeted with the spectacle of an Iraqi army that vastly outnumbers ISIS — which looks more like outtakes from The Road Warrior, than an organized military unit — disappearing like Obama Administration email the first time they hear an ISIS round whistle past their ear.

A Reuters reporter managed to interview an Iraqi soldier as he was feverishly changing into civvies and the soon–to–be civilian complained, “We can’t beat them. We can’t. They are well trained in street fighting and we’re not. We need a whole army to drive them out of Mosul.” Which is exactly what US taxpayers thought they were getting for their $25 billion, but evidently not.

Taxpayers would have gotten more bang for their buck if Uncle Sam had hired a biker gang and called it the Iraqi army. And speaking of bang for bucks, if you follow the news it appears the Pentagon was able to equip two armies for the price of one.

Initially, the Iraqi Army was issued weapons. The Iraqis and their hardware looked smart on the parade ground and during reviews for visiting US brass. Later — after learning that fighting ISIS was significantly more challenging than extorting money from businessmen and motorists — Iraqi troops threw down the weapons to improve their time in the 40 as they ran from combat. Whereupon army #2, the ISIS insurgents, picked them up. And are evidently making much better use of the gently–used firepower.

And now Obama, immune to learning from experience, wants to double down by spending $500 million to train and arm Syrian rebels, evidently forgetting Syria is where ISIS originated.

This is an outcome we’ve seen before. Uncle Sam is the Norm Van Brocklin of military trainers. We can do the fighting ourselves, and like Norm earn a spot in the Hall of Fame, but we are unable to coach anyone else to do it.

During our time in Iraq American taxpayers spent $90 billion on a variety of infrastructure and military projects. The bulk of the spending, some 75 percent, was paid for and supervised by the Pentagon after we routed Saddam’s army in a lightning campaign. (Could that have been a hint regarding the reliability of Iraqi troops that Pentagon trainers missed?)

The spending was completely out of proportion to the economy that received it. In 2003, the year we invaded, the GDP was only $29 billion. This means the approximately $10 billion–a–year the US pumped into the economy added almost a third to pre–war GDP and was a recipe for inflation and waste.

And that’s pretty much what we got. With no central coordination by either the State Department or the Pentagon, spending fell prey to bright–idea–ism. Some paper–pusher had a brainstorm or fell for the pitch of a traveling aid organization and the project began. Spending was plagued by overcharging, fraud, inefficiency and simple incompetence. And the supremely galling fact is in many instances the supposed beneficiaries didn’t want the power plant, school, prison, factory or Mercedes. (Well, maybe the Mercedes.)

The Army Times reported, “In too many cases…U.S. officials did not consult with Iraqis closely or deeply enough to determine what reconstruction projects were really needed or, in some cases, wanted. As a result, Iraqis took limited interest in the work, often walking away from half-finished programs, refusing to pay their share, or failing to maintain completed projects once they were handed over.

So if they walk away from a free power plant, why should we be surprised when they run away from a fight?

One program that was temporarily successful was Rent–an–Iraqi. According to CSMonitor.com during the second battle of Fallujah Marines deployed “a powerful weapon – money – to drive a wedge between the insurgents and the people.” The money went for “immediate needs and to settle disputes.” Here that’s bribing, but in Iraq it’s ‘winning hearts and minds.’ This makes the US military unique in history as the only victors that pay Danegeld to the defeated.

But as bad as this news is for taxpayers, it is not the worst. Iraq is only the second most expensive nation–building project in our history. Afghanistan is the largest and President Obama is planning to leave behind a $100 billion token of our esteem when he withdraws all troops in 2016.

Only Obama Staffers Believe IRS ‘Lost’ Email

IRS-emails4-copyIf you’ve been skeptical about the IRS’ explanation that Lois Lerner’s email disappeared during a World of Warcraft online game that got out of control, I have good news. Particularly since you’ve also probably been a little reluctant to express that thought. No one wants to be called a racist in the latte line at Starbucks while you–know–who is in the White House.

But you are not alone. Barbara Boland of CNS News reports that an overwhelming 76 percent of the American public does not believe the email was “lost” and rumors have it Jay Carney’s support is slipping, too. This means IRS deniers aren’t bigots after all! Since only 63 percent of the total US population is white, that means 13 percent of the minority population is included among the hard drive crash skeptics. Even the trends are looking bad for Barack ‘What? Me Worry?’ Obama. In April only 7 percent of the public believed that Congress should continue investigating “until someone is held accountable.” Now that figure is at 74 percent.

Disbelief was so pervasive among poll respondents that only people who swallowed the IRS story were over 65–years–old and still using a rotary phone.

Even 63 percent of Democrats believe the potentially incriminating messages were “deliberately destroyed,” but of course they have not received any contributions from IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. Boland — who has been all over this part of the story, too — found that Koskinen gave a $5,000.00 donation to re–elect Obama in 2012 and a total of $19,000 to the Democratic National Committee from 1988 to 2008. He’s also contributed to every Democratic presidential nominee since 1980. And he even gave $3,800.00 to Hillary ‘What difference does it make’ Clinton.

I won’t bore you with pointing out that a Republican in similar circumstances would be asked to recuse himself from anything concerned with the investigation. Rep. Elijah Cummings (D–MD) was so honored by the IRS commissioner’s appearance before the House committee investigating the IRS scandal that he almost pre–paid his taxes right there. Sounding like the master of ceremonies at a Kim Jong–un birthday party, Cummings gushed, “I want to thank you for being who you are. I want to thank you for giving a damn and caring about our country.”

What Koskinen is, is an arrogant, long–time laborer in the Democrat vineyard who is offended that Republicans won’t take his word for it that email on Lois Lerner and six of her henchmen’s computers suddenly came down with a bad case of digital flu that wiped out the messages. The fact that this is exactly what your ex–wife says about your email requesting a week’s grace period on the child support check is just a coincidence. It’s simply chance that time period involved in the elusive email is the exact same time period the House has subpoenaed.

Just because grandma has her data backed up on the cloud — she calls it “heaven” just for laughs — doesn’t mean a giant organization like the IRS with an annual budget of $11.2 billion has to follow even an elementary data preservation protocol.

Although the Senate appears content to sleep through this data disaster, there could be repercussions among the public. Losing information certainly does nothing to create confidence in the IRS E–File program that uses the Internet to file tax returns and make payments.

What if tax collections fall a bit short and the commissioner decides to double dip and tell you there is no record of your payment? It makes me suspicious that maybe the reason for IRS audits is not because the bureau thinks you are cheating on your taxes, it’s because they lost your tax information and are hoping you kept the records. Any revenue the auditor can gouge out during the process is a bonus.

Of course if the situation were reversed, what are the chances the IRS would accept an explanation like this from a taxpayer? You know the answer is less than zero. Lack of data would be just the same as pleading guilty, with fines and imprisonment to follow.

For that matter Koskinen’s excuse is even worse than the “I only had two beers, officer” that the drunk always gives during a DUI stop right before he participates in a field sobriety test.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R–SC) is a former prosecutor and he has had it with Koskinen’s arrogance. Last Monday he lit into the commissioner’s glib assurances that the IRS was a paragon of probity.

“You have already said multiple times today that there was no evidence that you found of any criminal wrongdoing,” Gowdy remarked. “I want you to tell me what criminal statutes you’ve evaluated.”

“I have not looked at any,” Koskinen replied.

“Well then how can you possibly tell our fellow citizens that there’s not criminal wrongdoing if you don’t even know what statutes to look at?” Gowdy shot back.

No doubt Koskinen is surprised at Gowdy’s lack of confidence in his assurances. The mainstream media treats him like the Oracle at Delphi, but this backwoods hick with the aggressive hair is attacking him in public!

Meanwhile back at the White House, it’s interesting how Obama continues to deploy the Will Roger’s Defense — All I know is what I read in the newspapers — with a straight face every time his administration demonstrates its incompetence. Why didn’t George Bush think of that during Katrina, the US Attorney firings or Iraq?

Still, I do wonder what Obama does during his daily briefings. Surely he must get tired of playing computer solitaire occasionally and look up to ask a question. During the 30 months and counting remaining of his second term, I hope no low level minion ever forgets to pay the New York Times subscription.

Otherwise Obama will have to rely on his golfing buddies to keep him abreast of current events.
